Man dies in shooting

One man died in a shooting just after midnight on Saturday.
The shooting happened in the 600 block of East Washington Street, according to a city press release. It was reported at 12:07 a.m.
Officers arrived on the scene and found an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Following medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel, the victim was taken by ground ambulance to an area hospital. He later passed away at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
The victim has been identified as Diamonta Christopher Price, 25 of Suffolk.
The incident remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release.
