Grant deadline extended
The deadline for the fourth round of the COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Grant Program has been extended.
The deadline will now be midnight on March 31, according to a city press release. “This will allow the inclusion of a broader range of small businesses from Suffolk who have been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions,” it stated.
For this current round, applications are open to small businesses established in Suffolk, both brick-and-mortar as well as home-based businesses. The business must have been open for business by Nov. 1, 2020. Additional information, qualifications, and the application can be found on the YesSuffolk.com under “COVID-19 Resources” — Small Business Assistance Grant Program. Approximately $500,000 is available for the grants, which will provide working capital grants of up to $5,000 per selected business.
For the business community to stay abreast of announcements such as these, it is recommended they follow the Suffolk Economic Development Department on social media. The department is listed as “YesSuffolk” on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Linkedin. Additional small business support can be found on YesSuffolk.com under the tab “COVID-19 Resources.”
