Mary Ann Russell Nickerson, 74, of Suffolk, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2021. She was born October 30, 1946, in Nansemond County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh and Erma Russell; husband of 48 years, Wesley C. Nickerson; and brother, Charlie W. Russell.

Mary was a member of First Baptist Church and worked at Chesapeake Regional Hospital for many years as a CNA. She is survived by her sons, David Nickerson, Russell Nickerson (Shelly) and Christopher Nickerson; grandchildren, Stephanie Boles, Allison Spence (Christopher), and Jared Boles; great-grandchildren, Jason and Annalise Spence; sister, Betty Russell; niece, Jennifer Jesse (Emmett); great-nieces and nephews, Jamie, Morgan, Camden, Avery, and Wyatt.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, 1891 Cypress Chapel Road. Condolences may be made at rwbakerfh.com.
