Gas prices in Suffolk and across the state have been on the increase over the past month, but have held steady over the past five days.

In the city, gas prices range from $2.53 to $2.79 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com, while the state average is $2.76 per gallon, according to AAA Tidewater Virginia.

The state average is 22 cents higher than last month and 79 cents higher than last year.
