Dog dies in drive-by shooting

A dog died in a drive-by shooting on Saturday evening.
The shooting happened in the 400 block of Wellons Street at 7:59 p.m. Saturday, according to a city press release.
The preliminary investigation determined that two vehicles drove by and shot into two residences that were occupied, the press release stated. A dog that was in the front yard of one of the residences died as a result of the incident. No other injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release.
