Woman wanted in connection with shooting arrested

A Franklin woman has been arrested on a charge related to a May 17 shooting in Suffolk.
Deasia Eltranek Mizell, 21, is charged with conspiracy to commit or incite riot, according to Suffolk Police. She was arrested Wednesday morning after charges were announced Monday.
Mizell was transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail, where she is being held without bond.
Also wanted in the shooting is Jeremy Lavon Griffin, 27, of Suffolk. He is charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon and discharge firearm in public place. In an unrelated case, he is wanted for possession of firearm by convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm and false police report.
The shooting happened in the 300 block of Hunter Street at 5:10 p.m. May 17. A 29-year-old Suffolk man was injured, and several vehicles and residences were also struck by gunfire.
