NRPA seeks volunteers
The Nansemond River Preservation Alliance is in need of volunteers this Saturday.
The NRPA Native Shrub and Tree Conservation Project includes a walking trail along the river at Sleepy Hole Park near the pier. Volunteers are needed from 8:30 to 11 a.m. this Saturday, June 12, at the park, 4616 Sleepy Hole Road.
Volunteers will place 3- to 5-inch stones to outline the path as well as place mulch along the path. Volunteers should be 10 and older. Gloves, snacks and water will be provided.
When the path is completed, visitors will be able to walk along the trail, take in the view of the river and learn about native trees and shrubs.
Volunteers should reply to email@example.com or call 757-708-6114.
