Leroy Goodman Sr. passed away on June 11, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Leroy was a family man and loved giving when he could. Leroy retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after many years of service. He is predeceased by his mother, Golitha Goodman; two brothers, Henry and Aaron Goodman; and one daughter, Cimmone Gibson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Margaret Goodman. He was a devoted father to his children, Stephanie Smith (Anthony), Yolanda Bryant (Charles), Cassandra Jackson, Mark Askew (Tonya), Leroy Goodman Jr. (Rhonda), Bobbie Goodman (Larieka). He had 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Randolph Goodman and J.T. Goodman; one sister, Queen Binns; special aunt, Ruth Council; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The viewing will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral in Norfolk. The funeral will take place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Community Funeral Home.

The family will be receiving family and friends at 960 Hanson Ave., Norfolk, VA 23504 starting Thursday.
