During the four days, students will explore light. From illuminated manuscripts to fireflies to lighted cards, different properties of light will be discussed and explored. Salerno will lead students through projects that will introduce traditional artist techniques and materials such as looking at light and shadow. She will also include a STEAM project that involves exploring circuits while making a card that will light up.

Parents are asked to have each child follow the listed safety protocols to enjoy this summer camp safely:

  • Children must wear masks
  • Students will be socially distanced
  • Each student will be given their own set of tools to use (no sharing allowed)
  • Parents must drop off their child and return promptly to pick them up.
  • A light packaged snack will be served each day. If your child has food allergies, please alert staff.

Art Camp is made possible in part by a grant from the Suffolk Fine Arts Commission.
