Police investigate armed robbery

Suffolk Police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store that happened Friday night, and they are asking for the public’s assistance identifying the suspect.

The robbery happened about 11 p.m. in the 600 block of East Washington Street, according to a city press release. The offender was described as a male wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans and a beanie who produced a handgun and demanded money.

The offender obtained an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene on foot. There were no reported injuries.

Images of the suspect were captured on surveillance video.
