Darryll Lewis has been named the new assistant director of Public Works, according to a city press release.
Robert Lewis, director of Public Works, made the announcement that Darryll Lewis has been selected as the new assistant director of public works — engineering, effective Dec. 7.
Darryll Lewis has been working for the city of Suffolk for two years and was initially hired as the capital program manager, which required close supervision and coordination of the city’s roadway improvement program while coordinating with VDOT on many projects. Darryll Lewis has a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Delaware, and an MBA from Phoenix University. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional.
Darryll Lewis has been serving as the interim assistant director for the last seven seven months. His new position has supervisory authority over the CIP, development and environmental, land and right of way acquisition, construction inspection, mosquito control, service support, and asset management groups.
