“We are just trying to show Jesus in the community,” said Josh Worrell, organizer of the event with Holland Baptist Church.

The Holland Ministerial Alliance was formed last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Knowing there were many in need in Suffolk and surrounding areas, numerous churches of different denominations decided to fill the need. With a great turnout and volunteers enjoying the work, The Holland Ministerial Alliance is ready to come out to the ballpark another year to serve those in need.

“Last year, everyone enjoyed working together as the body of Christ,” said Worrell. “It wasn’t one church outdoing another. It was coming together as a body of believers showing the community God’s love.”

This year, 15 churches and two Ruritan Clubs have come together to feed the community. Those involved include the Holy Neck and Holland Ruritan clubs, Holland Baptist, Holland Christian, Jordan’s Crossing, Pulaski Baptist, Beaver Dam, Bethel Assembly, Pleasant Grove, Holy Neck, Laurel Hill, Mt. Sinai, Piney Grove, Liberty Spring, Suffolk Christian, Somerton Friends and Bethlehem Christian Church.

“We hope this will be a huge blessing for people,” said Worrell. “Knowing how much we have been blessed this year, we want to pass it on for others to be blessed and know Jesus’ love.”
