Folks who are looking for something new to listen to for Christmas this year can find a new single from someone who grew up here in Pughsville.
Beverly Heath released her new single “Immanuel,” which is her first solo Christmas single. Her song tells the story of the birth of Jesus from a Biblical perspective.
“Christmas is my favorite time of year,” said Heath. “The reason is that it gives me the opportunity to celebrate the birth of Jesus, which I believe is God’s most perfect gift to the world.”
Heath wrote this song during her time during the COVID-19 lockdown. Instead of focusing on the situation, she took time to write about her favorite time of year and its true meaning. She considers the song a gift back to God.
She has been making music professionally since her first album in 2003, “The Word.” In 2018, she released her second album, “Jesus Boulevard.” She writes all of her music with help from her husband, William, who also produces.
This single is different from her previous ones, as it doesn’t have a strictly gospel sound. Keyth Lee of Dezert Rain Music did the musical and vocal arrangements, giving it a holiday feel. According to Heath, the “lush and beautiful” arrangement makes this song fit any playlist, including gospel, holiday, classical and stage.
“I pray that others enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing and singing it,” Heath said.
Heath is also excited about new opportunities in the coming new year. During her time in the COVID-19 lockdown, she also took time to write a devotional she hopes will come out in the spring. She also signed a deal to perform in a tour across six cities in the United States, from Texas to Connecticut.
“Immanuel” is available wherever music is streamed or sold. To learn more, look for Beverly Heath on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
