One man dead in Monday shooting

Suffolk Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Monday night.

The shooting in the 100 block of North Capital Street was reported at 8:50 p.m., according to a Suffolk Police Department press release.

The adult male victim was located on scene and pronounced deceased, the press release stated. Currently, the 100 block of North Capital Street is closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The Suffolk Police Department will be on scene for several hours investigating.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending a positive identification and notification of the next of kin. No additional information is available for release.
