Suffolk City Manager Albert Moor on Friday announced Timothy Kelley as interim director of Media & Community Relations.
The appointment, which was effective Thursday, is necessitated by the retirement of longtime director Diana Klink.
Kelley has been with the city since December 2003. He was initially hired as the city’s cable coordinator and was responsible for the operations of the city’s government access channel along with audio/video support for city departments. Kelley was named interim manager of the Media & Community Relations Department in October 2011 and became manager of the Media & Community Relations Department on May 1, 2013. The position was later reclassified as assistant director of Media & Community Relations.
Kelley has served as the city’s deputy FOIA officer since October 2011.
Kelley received his Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Louisiana State University with a major in broadcast journalism and a minor in history.
