Disney’s ‘Little Mermaid Jr.’ coming to Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts

The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts will welcome the Hurrah Players in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26.
The Norfolk-based Hurrah Players are raising the curtain on their 38th season with the Broadway musical, which is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic animated film.
The play features music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater. Songs include “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” “Part of Your World” and a “tall order” of “Positoovity!”
Festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. with a Little Mermaid Costume Contest with prizes, a Little Mermaid Scavenger Hunt and face painting. The Birdsong Theater’s doors open at 1:30 p.m.
