Full Moon Hike

Enjoy this two-mile hike illuminated by the light of the full moon. We’ll also highlight the nocturnal wildlife we encounter along the way on our nighttime adventure. Dress warmly; flashlights provided. Ages 18+ (children welcome with an accompanying adult). Event will be held 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Lone Star Lakes Park located at 401 Kings Highway. Cost is $5. Read and Roll: Trans-Galactic Bike Ride [IN-PERSON]

This book club has wheels! This collection of short stories imagines an interstellar, post-apocalyptic landscape where bicycles bring good fortune and werewolves roam freely. Register with this link https://suffolkpubliclibrary.libcal.com/event/8597386  to reserve your copy of Trans-Galactic Bike Ride: Feminist Bicycle Science Fiction Stories of Transgender and Nonbinary Adventurers (yours to keep!) and join in the conversation. After completing the event registration, you will receive an email to make arrangements for picking up your book. On March 19, 10:30 a.m. to noon, we will meet at the Driver trailhead of the Seaboard Coastline Trail (The Driver Dinosaur- 3160 Kings Hwy) for a group bike ride (or whatever kind of wheels you prefer) and book chat.  Participants must register to get a copy of the book, but the meetup is open to all without registration. Keep Suffolk Beautiful St. Patrick’s Day Cleanup

Keep Suffolk Beautiful is partnering with the Nansemond Brewing Station for a St. Patrick’s Day Cleanup event on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Volunteers are needed to participate in this litter cleanup in the heart of Downtown Suffolk. Participants will meet in the Nansemond Brewing Station Parking Lot, 212 East Washington Street, where they can collect cleanup equipment before setting off to remove trash from the surrounding area.
