Police investigate armed robbery at Happy Shopper on East Washington Street

Suffolk police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday morning at the Happy Shopper convenience store in the 600 block of East Washington Street.
Dispatchers were notified of the robbery at 10:22 a.m.
The preliminary investigation indicated that an armed male forced the clerk to open the cash register and a gaming device before fleeing on foot with an undetermined amount of money. No one was injured.
The robber is described as nearly 6 foot tall with a large build, wearing sunglasses and a black medical mask.
The incident remains under investigation.
