A Suffolk man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of a man at a Pruden Boulevard motel last year.
Dominique Vontral Steward, 42, also pleaded guilty to a first-offense use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in Suffolk Circuit Court last month, according to online court records. He is scheduled to be sentenced in a hearing at 9:30 a.m. July 8.
Steward, currently being held in the Western Tidewater Regional Jail, was arrested in July and initially charged with first-degree murder in the death of James Lee Golden, 58, of Suffolk before the charge was later amended to second-degree murder.
Golden was found dead at the Regal Inn motel in the 2300 block of Pruden Boulevard on the afternoon of July 11.
