The Suffolk Department of Public Utilities will have the water off for an emergency repair in the 1200 block of N. Main Street until further notice, according to a city news release.

The city had turned off the water in that area at 4 p.m. Monday and said the repair work and water outage had been extended until about 2 a.m. Tuesday.

The affected area includes businesses along North Main Street. One northbound lane of traffic is shut down to accommodate the repair.

Public Utilities staff are knocking on doors to notify businesses at the time of the notification.
