Mrs. Sarah Esther Spruill Boone of Suffolk was born Aug. 2, 1928, to Linwood and Sallie Pollard Spruill. She departed this life on June 19, 2022, in Norfolk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Frennie Boone and her siblings, James Spruill, William Spruill, Cleveland Spruill, Albert Spruill and Odelia Spruill Allen. She has one surviving brother, Lynn Thomas Spruill.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Jean Boone Wiggins (Douglas), Brenda Boone Lee (Lexie), Jesse Boone (Beverly) and Michael Boone (Elanzer); six grandchildren, Teddy Lee Sr. (Christina), Keith Wiggins (Swannelle), Marcus Boone (Lucy) Maurice Boone (Alexis), Jacqueline Boone (Tri′-Shaun), Jocelyn LeCadre (Todd); one extended granddaughter, Michelle Thomas (Dontae); two foster daughters, TaWanda Thomas (Kevin), Jessica Elliott (LaShan); nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

A public viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 4481 Butler Drive, with the pastor, Reverend L. Stephon Johnson delivering the eulogy. The committal and benediction will be held in Southampton Memorial Park, Pretlow Road, Franklin. Mask are required during the services. Service provided by the professional and caring staff of Wm. M.
