A Suffolk man who escaped from a federal prison camp in Hopewell is back in custody, officials said.
Lamonte Rashawn Willis was the last of four escapees to surrender around noon Wednesday at the low-security Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Petersburg in Hopewell.
The trustees — Willis, along with Tavares Lajuane Graham, Corey Branch and Kareem Allen Shaw — were reported missing last weekend after a head count at the facility.
Willis, 30, is serving an 18-year sentence for possessing and concealing a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces an additional five years if convicted of escaping from a federal prison.
