Nicholas G. Ashby, 84, passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, in his home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy JoAnne Ashby; his father, Millard T. Ashby; his mother and stepfather, Lylie Ashby Curran and John T. Curran; and a brother, Robert Ashby.

Mr. Ashby was a graduate of the College of William and Mary. He was a retired teacher at Churchland High School.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Melody G. Wilson of Suffolk; Thomas Ashby (Judith) of Hagerstown, Md. and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at Liberty Spring Christian Church, 4213 Whaleyville Blvd. with the Rev. Res Spears officiating. A private committal service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Online condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
