Ruby Holliman James, 92, of Suffolk passed Sept. 29, 2022, after a brief illness. A loving mother and wife, she is survived by her children, Nancy Lappa (Nick), Bonnie Kinere, Jimmy James (Jay Kohn) and Charlie James; grandchildren, Sheila Powers (Jeff) and Holly Horton; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Moore (Meagan) and Haley Moore; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Tommy Holliman of Ridgeway and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. James; two brothers, Earl Holliman and Melvin Holliman and a sister, Carol Van Riper. She spent her final years living with her children in Florida and Texas. A memorial service is being planned for the spring of 2023 in Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to donate to your favorite charity or to volunteer in your local community.
