Pearlie Mae Holland, 100, of Pineview Road peacefully transitioned on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, three weeks shy of her 101st birthday.

She was a lifelong Suffolk native and member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Pearlie Mae is loved by generations of family, friends and the community.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Benita White, Vionne Holland-Jones, Dvon Williams, Devin Alexander, Dana Holland, Pam Holland and Antoine Holland; great-grandchildren, Tamia Cherry, Brooklynn and Cruz Jones, Maevyn and Canon Williams, Zoë and Cameron Alexander, Shaine and Alexa Holland, Antoine Holland Jr.; great-great grandson, Jordan Sanders; daughter-in-laws, Susan Roberts-Holland of her late son Lloyd Douglas Holland, Josie Holland of her late son Andre Holland and Leland Holland, Jackie Langston and her husband and children, as well as caregivers Gaynell Almond, Vanessa Collins and Monica Langston who cared for Pearlie Mae like family of their own over the past few years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd M. Holland; her sons, Lloyd D. Holland and Andre Holland and daughters, Jean Holland and Patricia King.

Friends may join the family for a celebration of her life led by the Rev. Dr. William L. Lang at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel, 509 W. Washington St. followed by a procession to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1600 Holy Neck Road.
