James Howard Butts, 87, of Newport News, transitioned on Dec. 6, 2022.  A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, East End in Newport News.  Viewing took place on from 4 to 6 p.m.Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Shivers Funeral Chapel.
