On January 7, 2023, the Lord called Charlie Edward Lassiter, 92, to his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born on July 15, 1930, to the late George and Ronnie Lassiter.  He is also predeceased by his wife, Aretta of 65 years; a sister, Audrey Greene and a brother, William Lassiter.

Charlie lived his life having a strong faith in God. He served as a Sunday School teacher for over 65 years and was a lifetime deacon at Wilroy Baptist Church. He always saw the good in others and always greeted you with a big smile. He retired from the Coca-Cola Company in 1998.

The Lord and his family were the love of his life. Charlie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Emily L. Gayheart (Ricky); sons and daughters-in-law, C. Michael Lassiter (Sharon), W. Dale Lassiter (Veronica); six grandchildren and their spouses, Amber L. Harrell (Ronnie), Christopher A. Lassiter (Mariko), Justin D. Lassiter (Chelsea), Tyler C. Gayheart, Olivia N. Lassiter, Rebecca B. Gayheart; four great-grandchildren, Trinity Harrell, Naomi Harrell, Emika Lassiter and Thomas Lassiter; three sisters, Virginia Kight (Junior), Nellie Goodwin and Mary Bunch (Dallas); and numerous nieces and nephews, and special canine companion, Katie.

We would like to give special thanks to our wonderful caretakers, Donna, Jean, Elizabeth, Donita, Kenny and Katherine, for taking great care of our daddy, and the Trinity Hospice Team for support to the family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 11, at Wilroy Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Edwards and the Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Interment will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Parr Funeral Home.
