Police investigate Sunday armed robbery at Happy Shopper

Suffolk Police are seeking a male suspect in a Sunday afternoon armed robbery on Main Street in downtown.

Police responded to the Happy Shopper at 715 North Main St, at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 15 for a report of an armed robbery, according to a department news release. 

Officers learned an adult male suspect entered the store and produced a black handgun to the clerk and demanded money.  The suspect is a black male, 5-foot, 7-inches to 5-foot, 8-inches, small to medium build, wearing a blue medical mask, black hoodie, blue jeans and black shoes.

Police said the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and was last observed getting into a gray four-door sedan.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time. Police said there is no further information available for release.
