SPD seeks public’s help in fatal hit and run

Suffolk Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two vehicles connected with a fatal hit and run Sunday, Feb. 12.

Suffolk Emergency Communications was notified of the incident at about 10:43 p.m. in the 6200 block of Godwin Boulevard.

When Suffolk Police arrived on the scene, they discovered a deceased male individual who was struck by a vehicle on Godwin Boulevard and succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Kendrick Jackson, 30, of Newport News, according to a department news release.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two vehicles that left the scene prior to police arrival. Both were last seen heading towards Isle of Wight County. 

Suffolk Police said the first vehicle was a 2011- 2013 blue Toyota Highlander. The second is a 2019-2023 white Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Department officials are asking anyone who may have information related to this incident to contact Investigator Officer E. May with the Suffolk Police Department at 757-923-2350, option 8.
