The Suffolk Chapter of Les Gemmes Inc. recently initiated four new members into its organization, Tammy Coker, Wanda Cook-Boone, Jasmine Downs and Barbara Harden. 

There are now a total of 14 new members.

 In addition, the chapter awarded three $500 scholarships to area high school seniors: Genevieve J. Owens from Nansemond River, who is attending Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth; Tamyra A. Freeman from Lakeland, who is attending Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond; and Lazarea T. Butler from King’s Fork, who is attending Norfolk State University.
Gail Hinton-Copeland is the president of the Suffolk Les Gemmes Chapter.
