North Capital shooting wounds one, hits cars in the area

Suffolk Police are investigating a North Capitol Street shooting Wednesday night that wounded one and caused damage to nearby vehicles.

Suffolk 911 Center received several calls for service for shots fired in the area of the 100 block of N. Capital Street at about 8:29 p.m. Wednesday, March 15.

An adult male was located there suffering from a gunshot wound, police said in a news release. The victim, a 28-year-old male, was treated on scene by Suffolk Fire and Rescue, who then refused to be transported to a local hospital.

Several shell casing were discovered at the scene, along with 2 unoccupied vehicles that had been damaged from the gun fire. 

The investigation remains ongoing at this time. Police said there is no further information available for release.
