Two KFHS girls named to VHSL All State Team

Two members of the Kings Fork High School girls basketball team that made another run for the state title made the 2023 Virginia High School League’s All State Team in Class 4

Freshman Cyriah Griffin, a sophomore, was one of the eight statewide making the Class 4 All-State first team. KFSH senior Niyah Gaston was named to the Class 4 second team All State.

NSA player named to VISAA All State Team

The Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association recently named its All State boys basketball teams for the 2022-23 season.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s Isaiah Fuhrmann made the boys second team roster.

 

KFHS boys tennis claims win over Denbigh

Kings Fork High School boys tennis team continues to “slice up” wins, defeating Denbigh High School’s team, 6-3, Tuesday, March 28.

Results from singles play, had KFHS taking four of the six matches:

  • Evan Crowley vs. William Say (2-6, 6-4, 5-10), winner Denbigh
  • Ralph Anderson vs. Austin Wilson ( 7-6, 6-0), winner KFHS
  • Charles McClain vs. Moeck Holder (6-2, 7-6), winner KFHS
  • Shamar Jiggetts vs. Brandon Burbage (6-3, 6-3), winner KFHS
  • Brandon Farmer vs. Keran  Flinchum (6-0, 6-2), winner KFHS
  • No KFHS opponent vs. Nathan Brown, winner Denbigh High

Doubles action saw KFHS claim two of three matches:

  • Crowley/McClain vs. Say/Wilson (8-2), winner KFHS
  • Anderson/ Jiggetts vs. Holder/Burbage (8-2), winner KFHS
  • No KFHS opponents vs. Brown/Flinchum, winner Denbigh

The King Forks boys now stand at 2-1 for the season.

 

KFHS girls tennis claims win over Denbigh

The Kings Fork High School girls tennis team defeated Denbigh High School, 7-2, during a match Tuesday, March 28.

In single’s play, KFHS won four of the six matches:

  • Nakari Blunt vs, Aliya Sheldon, 8-0, winner KFHS
  • Leah Stewart vs. Cariala Garcia-Pillot, 8-0, winner KFHS
  • Olivia Hodouto vs, Lala Morhart, 8-3, winner KFHS
  • Johana Edwards vs. Destyn Reddix, 6-8 (Winner) Denbigh
  • Maya Satchell vs. Camdem Tisadle, 8-4, winner KFHS
  • Jasmine Lawrence vs. Alyssa Jackson, 4-8, winner Denbigh

 

The KFHS girls claimed all three doubles matches:

  • Nakari Blunt and Leah Stewart vs. Lala Morhart and Cariala Garcia-Pillot, 8-0, winner KFHS
  • Makiya Wright and Olivia Hodouto vs. Camdem Tisadle and Destyn Reddix, 8-2, winner KFHS
  • McKayla Carter and Johana Edwards vs. Anh Sam and An-Pham, 8-4, winner KFHS
