No threat found after sweep of Target warehouse

A sweep of the Target warehouse at 300 Manning Bridge Rd. turned up nothing after a bomb threat was received Tuesday afternoon.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to a reported threat of a bomb within the Target warehouse Tuesday, April 11. Crews were dispatched at 1:15 p.m. and the first unit arrived on scene at 1:20 p.m.

The facility was evacuated and a sweep of the building was conducted by the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office and Suffolk Police with multi-jurisdictional assistance from Virginia State Police, Newport News, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth Police K-9 units.

No injuries were reported. No threat was found and the building received the all clear at 5:20 p.m. at which time the occupants were allowed to return and the building was turned back over to management, according to a department news release

The incident remains under investigation and there is no further information available at this time.

Seven Suffolk Fire and Rescue units responded to the call, along with three fire marshals, Newport News K9, Virginia State Police, Isle of Wight K9, Portsmouth Police K9 and Suffolk Police.
