Water interruptions planned in U.S. 58/Holland Road area due to road widening project

Working on behalf of the Suffolk Department of Public Works, a contractor is set to perform water main relocation work along the U.S. 58/Holland Road corridor beginning Friday, April 14, 2023.
The work requires a water service interruption that is anticipated to run from 9 p.m., Friday, April 14, to 4 a.m., Saturday, April 15, according to a City of Suffolk news release.
This work is part of the U.S. 58/Holland Road widening project that is currently underway.
During the noted period, the release states that city water service will be interrupted in the following areas.
Residential city water customers will be affected in the:
- Cove Point Subdivision
- Cameron Crossing Subdivision
- 200 Block of Sumner Avenue
- 1600 Block of Faulk Road
Commercial businesses and residences along Holland Road will be affected at:
- 1653 Holland Road
- 1661 Holland Road
- 1665 Holland Road
- 1833 Holland Road
- 1837 Holland Road
If weather or other conditions do not allow the work to occur on the dates noted, it is anticipated that the work will be rescheduled for 9 p.m., Saturday, April 15 to 4 a.m., Sunday, April 16.
