Suffolk is joining other towns and cities across the country to recognize National Work Zone Awareness Week, April 17-21.
It is an annual spring campaign to encourage motorists to work with us by exercising extra caution as they travel through a work zone.
“Safety of motorists and workers is paramount,” Suffolk Public Works Director Robert Lewis said. “To increase safety for everyone, we will deploy mobile speed enforcement cameras this summer.”
The common goal shared by all through the program is to have zero incidents in 2023. Officials ask motorists to remember that work crews have families too.
