Parker hired as teacher before graduation

 

Madison Parker, a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Bob Jones University, was hired before graduation as a kindergarten teacher at Patrick Elementary School in Hampton.

Parker is a resident of Suffolk.

Located in Greenville, South Carolina, Bob Jones University provides an outstanding regionally accredited Christian liberal arts education.

 

Omicron Delta Kappa adds new Suffolk members

 

Three Suffolk residents attending Old Dominion University are among 787 new initiates from 32 universities welcomed into Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, during March 2023.

The Suffolk residents include Rita Detrick, Kiley Miller and Donielle Alexander-Blake, all who attend ODU.

Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than 5% of students on a campus are invited to join each year.
