Three adults displaced in Tree Lane fire

Three adults were displaced from their home in a residential fire Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of Tree Lane in Holland.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the structure fire after the city’s Emergency Communications was contacted at 12:59 p.m.

Engine 7 and Medic 7 arrived at 1:02 p.m. to find heavy smoke showing from the single story detached residential structure, according to a department news release.

An aggressive interior fire attack was initiated to find and control the well advanced fire.  Searches on the interior found no occupants or pets and the fire was placed under-control at 1:39 p.m., the release stated.

The structure has heavy smoke and fire damage. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters.  

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.  

The three adults are being assisted by the American Red Cross.  

Fifteen Fire and Rescue units responded to the call, along with five Fire Marshal units.
