A Parker Enterprises rezoning request on Sleepy Hole Road won City Council’s approval after there was no opposition to the proposal.
During its Wednesday, May 17, meeting, Council members held a public hearing over an ordinance to amend previously established proffered conditions of Parker Enterprises residential development for the properties.
The original rezoning included three types of proffers: an 8-foot concrete fence, a 20-foot wide vegetated buffer and a written disclosure to prospective buyers about adjacent construction operations.
Suffolk Planning and Community Senior Planner Brittany Colyer presented the ordinance to council saying the parcels were originally rezoned from B-1 to RLM in April 2021.
“The applicant is requesting a proffer modification to change the proposed fencing material from concrete to white vinyl, reduce the height of the fence from 8 feet to 6 feet and to construct the fence on the applicants property rather than the adjacent B-1 user’s property,” Colyer stated during her presentation to the council.
There was no opposition to the change in the application during the public hearing. Council approved the ordinance with a unanimous 8-0 vote.
