The City of Suffolk Parks and Recreation Department’s TGIF Summer Concert Series scheduled for today, Friday, June 23, 2023, is canceled due to impending inclement weather.

Weather has caused the first two events in the series to be canceled.

The series continue at Constant’s Wharf Park & Marina, 110 E. Constance Rd., with Island Boy set to take the stage Friday, June 30, followed by SlapNation on Friday, July 14.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and the bands perform from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free for all ages. Concessions will be available for purchase and attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for seating.

The fun then continues with four additional concerts at Bennett’s Creek Park, 3000 Bennetts Creek Park Rd., featuring Inside Out, July 28; Tailgate Down on Aug. 4; The Deloreans, Aug. 11; and Wonderland, Aug. 18.

Sentara Healthcare is sponsoring the concert series.
