Two named to UA president’s list for spring 2023 term
Two Suffolk students were among A total of 12,487 named to the dean’s and president’s lists during spring semester 2023 at the University of Alabama.
Both local students, Aria Lawrence and Crystiana McCollum, made the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0, all A’s.
Harrell makes dean’s list at University of Mississippi
John Harrell of Suffolk was named to the spring 2023 dean’s honor roll list at the University of Mississippi.
Harrell, a general business major, made the dean’s honor roll by earning a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.74. To be eligible for the designation, a student must complete at least 12 graded hours and may not be on academic probation during the semester.
4 earn University of Maryland Global Campus degrees
Four Suffolk students are among nearly 3,400 who graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus in the 2023 spring semester.
Local students who earned degrees are: Matthew Paul Contreras, associate of arts; Jerrell L. Banks, bachelor of science in computer networks and cybersecurity; Jennifer Paulette Russell, bachelor of science in criminal justice; and Tyler Richard Nist, bachelor of science in cybersecurity management and policy summa cum laude.
Salerno graduates from Emory & Henry College
Benjamin Salerno of Suffolk graduated from Emory & Henry College in spring 2023.
Located in the Highlands of Virginia, Emory & Henry College has devoted itself since 1836 to the belief that education can have a transformative effect on an individual, a place and ultimately the wider world.
6 graduate from Shenandoah University
Six Suffolk students are among the 1,143 graduates receiving their degrees and certificates from Shenandoah University during the 2022-23 academic year.
The local graduates include: Douglas Jackson, who earned a bachelor of science in information technology; Jahveesha Combs, who earned a bachelor of science in biology and a bachelor of science in psychology; Brittany Cummings, who earned a professional studies certificate in administration and supervision; Jaylon Hayes-Keller, who earned a bachelor of music in performance; Danielle Hicks, who earned a professional studies certificate in gifted education; and Larissa Looney, who earned a professional studies certificate in gifted education.
Shenandoah’s 2023 commencement ceremony took place May 20 in Winchester.
