Rudolph Valentino Cross Sr., a good man, a gentleman has gone to be with Lord on Aug. 14, 2023, and he will be missed dearly. He was a strong and positive influence in the lives of all those who shared a relationship with him. A great husband, father, grandfather, brother, etc. He was a good counselor to us, always saying what needed to be said without biting his tongue whether good or bad he had our best interest at heart. He fought a good fight and ran a good race to the end.Â
He leaves behind his children, Rudolph Cross Jr. (Phyllis), Sheryl Hutchinson, Miles Cross and Tony Green; sisters, Marion Parker and Joan Haskins (Roy); brother, Nathanial Cross (Wanda); daughter-in-law, Cathy Williams; sisters-in-law, Doretha Holland and Janice Parker and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Jesus thank you for the gift of his presence on this earth for a little while, we love him, but you love him best. See you in glory someday.
Viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at Crocker Funeral Home Inc., 900 E. Washington St. The homegoing celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at First Baptist Church, 112 Mahan St. Dr. Steven Blunt will be officiating.
