The North Suffolk Rotary Club will host its annual oyster roast at the Rose Farm on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The event is the largest fundraising venture for the club, bringing in approximately $10,000 for local charities such as Mercy Drops Dream Center, Western Tidewater Free Clinic, and Tidewater Friends of Foster Care, among others.

The club’s past president and rising area governor, Tom Powell, says the money raised goes toward helping children.

“So all of the money we raised really goes into, you know, the next generation, ” Powell said. “So, that’s why we do it.”

There will be live music and an open beer tap, along with the all-you-can-eat oysters roasted over hardwood oak and a Linwood’s BBQ sandwich.

“So, it’s a fun event,” Powell said. “And it’s just a cool vibe every year.”

Powell said the event attendance is capped at 400 people, but tickets may still be available online at www.northsuffolkrotary.com/oyster-roast.
