Bon Secours Care-A-Van to offer free medical services

The Bon Secours Care-A-Van will offer free medical services that provides general medical care to uninsured adults and children at the East Suffolk Recreation Center located at 138 S. 6th Street, Suffolk, VA, 23434 on the first Wednesday of every month. Beginning Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the program will kick off and will continue on a monthly basis. Appointment times begin at 8:30 a.m. The Care-A-Van provides services in Hampton Roads communities on the Southside and the Peninsula. Services include routine evaluation and treatment of common acute illnesses including:

  • Gastritis and heart burn
  • Minor skin rashes
  • Minor musculoskeletal pains
  • Respiratory infections
  • Urinary tract and bladder infections
  • Headaches, ear aches, and pink eye
  • Chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension

The Care-A-Van also offers sports physicals, children’s health insurance enrollment, and health education services. Medical conditions that are beyond the team’s scope of care are referred to another care setting.
