Dreary weather could not dampen the holiday spirits of those attending the 3rd Annual Bridgeport Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 3832 Bridge Rd. on Saturday.

The market saw a variety of local vendors providing handcrafted jewelry, baked goods, candles, home décor, and more. The event also featured Christmas tree sales from Knott’s Creek Trees and Trimmings, Hay Rides for families, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Event Coordinator Casey Cali with BECO Asset Management, LLC reflected on the holiday event, calling the market’s turnout “truly heartwarming.”

“The rain didn’t stop us from ‘packing the house,’ Cali said. “The last-minute addition of our 40’x130’ tent kept everyone dry, warm, and cozy, and we were thrilled to see how many people showed up, rain and all!”

Cali talked about bringing a variety of businesses together for the market, calling it “an incredible experience.”

“It involved a collaborative effort that showcased the talent and creativity of our local entrepreneurs,” she said. “The sense of community among these businesses was inspiring, and it highlighted the importance of supporting and celebrating the local economy.”

Cali expressed what she and her team hoped attendees took away from this year’s market.

“Our hope is that attendees left the Holiday Market with a sense of joy, warmth, and connection to their community. We wanted them to experience the magic of the holiday season through the festive activities, interactions with local businesses, and the overall sense of community camaraderie,” Cali said. “Additionally, we aimed to encourage a spirit of supporting local businesses, emphasizing the unique and high-quality products and services available within our community.”

Likewise, she talked about her and her team’s hopes for next year’s event.

“Looking ahead to next year, we aspire to make the Holiday Market an even more cherished tradition in Suffolk. We plan to build on the success of this year’s event by expanding the range of activities and offerings [and] we hope for no rain!” she said humorously. “Our goal is to create an even more inclusive and vibrant experience that resonates with both new and returning attendees. We hope to see the Holiday Market continue to grow and allow the Bridgeport Foundation to continue to foster a strong sense of community and provide a platform for local businesses to thrive during the holiday season.”
