Increased rainfall is expected to close out the weekend. The National Weather Service in Wakefield forecasts a 100% chance of rain on Sunday, mainly after 7 a.m., with precipitation between one and two inches and the potential for flash flooding for Suffolk and all of Hampton Roads. This is a significant increase from what meteorologists expected Thursday.

Strong winds from the east at 7 to 12 MPH in the morning, increasing to 13 to 18 MPH in the afternoon, with gusts up to 30 MPH, are likely to accompany the rain. The high for Sunday is expected to be in the low 60s.

Rain will likely continue into Monday morning but is expected to clear by the afternoon with a high near 58.
