Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at approximately 4:26 a.m., according to a press release. The release says the 911 center received a call from an individual located in the 200 block of Pine St. advising that he had been shot at another location.
Officers responding to the call spoke with an adult male with a minor wound to his leg. The male told officers the injury was from a gunshot that occurred in the area of White Marsh Rd. Officers canvassed the 800 block of White Marsh Rd but found no crime scene. The male was treated at Obici Hospital for his non-life threatening injury.
This incident is the third gun-related incident in three days in Suffolk. On Saturday, a teen was shot by Suffolk Police when officers said the teen was wielding multiple weapons, then on Sunday, a man was shot in the 2000 block of Freeney Ave. None of the incidents resulted in a loss of life.
