The Nansemond River girls continue to roll as they defeated Indian River 52-33 to improve to 12-1 on the season.

Since losing to Deep Creek in December, the Lady Warriors have rattled off eight straight wins and are averaging 56 points a game.

The Lady Warriors saw three players score double-digits, led by sophomore Jordin Richardson, who dropped 22 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists in the victory.

Freshman Brittany Evans added 13 points, and Michaela Ingram dropped in 10 points.

Given the current run and the margin of victories, head coach Leroy Skinner says keeping the girls engaged is one of the keys to finishing the season strong.

“You got to stay engaged,” Skinner said. “Because sometimes kids get bored when they’re just getting it easy. So we just always preach, stay engaged.”

The Lady Warriors head to Chesapeake to take on the Lady Tigers of Oscar Smith on Friday, Jan. 26. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now via the GoFans app (http://gofan.co/event/1205309).
