NRHS boys handle Indian River on the road

The Nansemond River Warriors traveled to Indian River Tuesday and walked out victorious 59-50.
Coming out of the halftime break up by one, the Warriors went on a 22-11 run in the third period, led by junior George Porter, who knocked in six of his 12 points, while senior Haven Nicholas added seven of his 10 points to go along with his 10 rebounds and four blocked shots.
The Warriors needed a spark from off the bench as the Braves rallied to pull within three points in the fourth period. That spark came from junior Christian Jordan, who scored seven of his team-high 16 points in the final period. Jordan also pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Warriors move to 11-4 on the season and will play host to Oscar Smith on Friday, Jan. 26. tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale on the GoFan app at http://gofan.co/event/1264584
