SFD battles blaze that left two displaced Sunday

Suffolk, Virginia — According to Suffolk Fire and Rescue, an early morning fire has displaced two Suffolk residents. The call came in at approximately 1:36 a.m. for a residential structure fire in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Crews arrived at 1:42 a.m. to heavy fire and smoke coming from the single-story detached residential structure. Crews entered the home, conducted an aggressive attack on the fire, and searched the residence. All searches were clear, and the fire was brought under control at 2:05 a.m. There were no reported injuries to firefighters or occupants. Two occupants, one adult and one juvenile, were displaced.

The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
