No. 3 NSA downs No. 4 Atlantic Shores Christian

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints baseball dominated the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks 8-2 on Wednesday, improving its season record to 6-4.

After NSA took a 2-0 lead in the opening frame, Atlantic Shores knotted the game at two apiece in the top of the fourth inning. However, NSA regained the lead shortly after when Noah Brooks hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring Gavin Angelilo. The Saints opened the lead in the bottom half of the fifth, scoring four runs, and never looked back.

Matthew Elswick pitched a complete game, giving up just two runs on two hits while fanning six batters.
